White Chunk
The shop is designed to balance a formal language that is bold, energetic, and memorable with a simple white palette that frames the clothes, accessories, and customers.
The white geometric chunks tumble through the space, now frozen, their past connections unfolding as views and glimpses through the interior.
Restrained white surfaces unify the mass and balance this formal language with the display of clothes and accessories, staging dresses, sunglasses, rings, shoes, and even the customers within a gallery-like cavern of a shop.
Amid the store’s cascading diagonals, a simple mirrored box interrupts the composition.
Conceived as a play on voyeurism, the changing room allows its occupant to see out at onlookers, who are either absorbed in their own reflections in the one-way mirrors or catch glimpses of the occupant within.
The energy and language of the chunks is extended through mirrored cracks in the fabric of the store, creating infinite compositions of spaces and bodies. These mirrors are sometimes designed to extend the space, and at other times to remind, distort, and reform the bodies in the store. A mirrored horizon cuts through the store at eye level, establishing a consistent datum that orients the body within the space while reflecting the voyeur back onto themselves.
Tucked into a nook of the store, the changing room is enveloped in deep red technical fabric, its intensity and texture shaping a private, intimate atmosphere.
This fabric also forms the staff uniforms, visually linking the team to the brand and the environment.
The hanging display rail reads as a trajectory drawn in space — a precise, crafted element that traces a hidden geometry, subtly reverberating with the surrounding surfaces.
